I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone for their continued cooperation with the business operations of CO-OPTRADE JAPAN LTD.(CTJ)
In 2023 in Japan, selling prices were raised for a cumulative total of 32,000 food products, for which the average price increase was 15% in each round of price hikes. This reflects the rush to boost selling prices, which has been ongoing since 2022. CTJ has found it difficult to offset the negative impact, mainly due to high resource costs and a depreciation in the value of the Japanese yen by reducing expenses and improving productivity. In light of this, selling prices were boosted for a majority of products.

Consequently, sales of CO-OP brand products, the mainstay business of CTJ decreased by 97.9% versus the previous fiscal year, and the number of items sold was 87.0% in comparison with a year earlier. Due to cutbacks in the number of products, CTJ might have bothered some of business partners and the factories.
Meanwhile, we are moving forward as scheduled with the release of new products and product renewals. This will pave the way for growth in the fiscal year ending March 2025. We once again express our deepest gratitude to everyone for their understanding and cooperation in a wide range of areas, including manufacturing and quality control.
The foundation of our management, which is the basic policy of CTJ, is to deliver products that boast consistent quality and are reasonably-priced ― that can "only be made overseas" and "better because they are made overseas" ―to greatly please member co-ops and co-op members nationwide. We not only supply products but also provide materials, including videos, to deliver information regarding the culture of the country of origin and details concerning the production area.

CO-OP brand products in Japan aim to fulfill requirements for product safety, high quality and affordable prices, and place emphasis on being eco-friendly and respecting human rights. CTJ is confident that the realization of these requirements will contribute to the happiness and joy of business partners people in the plants, and co-op members who use CO-OP brand products.
